Grades 7-8

In this course, word problem worries will be no more as students learn how to locate the keywords and important information they need to successfully tackle each problem as well as strengthen their computation skills to prepare them for the next grade level. Through differentiated instructional strategies, students will work through a variety of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems and develop strategies to master fraction computations. Students will use hands-on manipulatives to strengthen their understanding of standard computational algorithms and visualization to help with mental math skills. Participants are encouraged to bring their math assignments to complete during the course to practice the foundational math skills for this academic year.
