BRIDGE TO SUCCESS WITH READING AND MATH

ELEMENTARY SUMMER BRIDGE READING PROGRAM: 3^rd & 4^th GRADE

Reading should be fun and engaging!  The purpose of the Summer Bridge Reading Program is to improve students reading success from first through fourth grade.  Students will be enriched with reading strategies, visualization, and multimedia to keep their focus on learning with hands-on, computer-based, individual, and group activities. This is a two week intensive reading and writing program with a variety of differentiated activities focusing on the development of language, reading, and writing skills. Students have the option to select a book from their assigned summer reading list to use in class.

FRACTIONS, DECIMALS, PERCENTS; OH MY! (Grades 4 & 5)

Conceptually understanding the relationship between these three areas through manipulative and interactive problem solving activities.

Rising fourth and fifth grade students will engage in fun activities in order to grasp the concept of the whole and part. Students will use strategies and techniques learned in order to solve real-world problems and increase their conceptual knowledge of fractions, decimals and percents.
