July 5 - July 8 AND July 11 - July 14 (2 weeks): Skill Builder Math (GR 3-5)

Avoid the summer slide and send your student back to school ready with a solid foundation of essential basic math skills! In this course, students will strengthen their computation skills and the essential problem solving skills to prepare them for the next grade level. Through differentiated instructional strategies, students will work through a variety of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems and develop strategies to master computation, fraction, and decimal skills. Throughout the class, students will participate in mini-lessons to address the skills, collaborate with peers, use hands on manipulatives, and online activities to strengthen their understanding of standard computational algorithms and visualization to help with mental math skills. Students who struggled with virtual/hybrid learning will have the opportunity to fill the “gaps” to set them up for success next school year! Participants are encouraged to bring their summer math assignments to complete during the course.

Grade 3-5 Skill Builder Math Learning Outcomes: Strengthen computation skills; develop skills to solve one and two step word problems; improve math fact fluency.

• July 11 - July 14 (Mon - Thur)

 For a total of TWO weeks of class time, 8 days total.
