Cuentos y Sonrisas (Stories and Smiles) 11/15/2021 (Non-PDS Schools Only)

Audience: Preschool Teachers, paraprofessionals and coaches

Description: Early childhood English language learners benefit most when they develop literacy skills in their first language before learning to read in a second one. Parents/guardians/caregivers can be helpful in their child’s literacy development regardless of their language. Spanish speaking parents/guardians/family members can read popular, highquality books with their child in Spanish and assist in the literacy development. This monthly PD will introduce a new book each month to Spanish speaking parents/guardians/caregivers along with helpful tips on how to read and motivate their preschool child with rich age-appropriate literacy skill building activities.
