July 26-30: Keep the Music Going 2021 Summer Music Camp (on campus)

Keep the Music Going is a true 21^st Century Musical Experience. During this week-long online camp for serious music students, you will … Perform with other students in instrumental and choral ensembles! Study the components of musicianship to expand musical skill! Expand your creativity through digital music creation! Listen to music performances while having lunch with new friends. Private music lessons are available for students recommended by their teachers. And at week’s end, demonstrate your learning for family and friends in a final performance!  

Open to serious music students in Grades 9-12 from Title 1 schools in New Jersey (8^th graders on a case-by-case basis). For more information contact Carol Frierson-Campbell (friersoncampbellc@wpunj.edu)

Arrival, check in, warm-up

9:00 – 9:30

Session 1

• 9:30 - 10:30 am 
• “Ensemble Camp”  

Session 2 

• 10:40 - 11:40 am
• Musicianship
• 11:45 – 12:30 pm
• Students should bring a bag lunch and drink, no lunch provided
• Virtual concert (recorded performances) and “hang out” w/WPU students and alumni 

Session 3 

• 12:40 – 1:40 pm
• Digital music creation 

Session 4 

• 1:40 - 2:40 pm
• Lessons for students recommended by teachers
• Students dismissed at 3:00 pm
• 9 am – 3 pm regularly scheduled sessions on campus
• 3-4:30 pm Concert Run-Through
• 4:30-5 pm Break
• 5 pm Final Celebration Concert in Shea Auditorium
