August 2-5: Emotional Intelligence Learning Acceleration Program (Grades 6-8)

Social and Emotional Learning Online Program Module Overview

During the Social Emotional Learning sessions, students will experience a variety of activities and exercises that will offer tools and techniques designed to increase their self and social awareness, self-management, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. Applied Social Improvisation, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Awareness methods will be incorporated. The SEL skill-sets instructional time will be scheduled for one week for 3 hours per day, Monday through Thursday in the summer.   

 

 SEL Learning Outcomes 

 

  • Students will increase their understanding of how to manage their emotions  

  • Students will expand their ability to feel and show empathy for others 

  • Students will develop the skills to make responsible decisions 

  • Students will apply the SEL skills learned during the class activities
