QuickBooks Desktop: 70hrs

This QuickBooks Course is designed to prepare you for a bookkeeping career and at the same time attain a general understanding of the Accounting Cycle.  It is also designed to prepare for the QuickBooks Certification Exam.  (2 Exams and practice software are included in the cost of the course)

This QuickBooks Course uses QuickBooks desktop for newcomers and advanced users.  We will approach the following topics.

• Setting up A Company File. Developing A Plan.
• Creating a Chart of Accounts and an Item List.
• Using the Vendor Center (Bills, Payments, Checks, and Credit Memos).
• Using the Customer Center (Invoices, Sales Receipts, Payments, Deposits, Credit Memos, and Customer Statements). 
• Producing and Modifying GAAP accepted Reports generated by QuickBooks.
• Customizing the QuickBooks Interface and Forms.
• Creating Progress Invoices.
• Collecting and Paying Sales Tax.
• Building an Inventory.
• Using General Journal Entries within QuickBooks.
• Job Costing and increasing your bottom dollar.
• Banking Reconciliations for Credit Cards and Bank Accounts.
• A basic understanding of QuickBooks Payroll and Preparing Tax Payments.
• Creating a Budget in QuickBooks and Excel.

 Our Instructor:

Jennifer Mastrangelo has had diverse experience for the past 20 years in teaching Accounting and Computer Courses at various Colleges and Continuing Education Programs. Before that she worked in multiple capacities in the Business Sector. She has a Masters of Education Degree in Instruction and Curriculum from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Accounting Concentration.
