Introduction to Child Development for 12th Grader Students 2/20/21 to 3/20/21

 

The Child Development Introductory course is a good basic course for new caregivers. The emotional warmth between the teacher and the child, the independence that the teacher gives the child to lead, to discover what “Teachable Moments” are presented through this class. The students are taught to develop strong relationships with the individual child, their families and foster positive interactions among teachers and peers within the classroom environment. Students will be able to pursue a National CDA credentials when they move to the advanced course level next year.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES 

The CDA Candidate is assessed on the basis of eight Competency Goals:

1. Planning a safe, healthy learning environment

2. Advancing children’s physical and intellectual development

3. Supporting children’s social and emotional development

4. Building productive relationships with families

5. Managing an effective program

6. Maintaining a commitment to professionalism

7. Observing and recording children’s behavior

8. Understanding principles of child development and learning
