Beyond Musing on Museum Education: Examining interdisciplinary teaching and learning

Two days Virtual Workshop 1 ½ hour each session (register just for the October 22 date to access both sessions)

Dates: Thursday, October  22 and 29, 2020

Time: 4-5:30 p.m.

The two-session Museum education virtual workshop will explore art and science museums’ educational offerings virtually. The workshop will be a close exploration of local, New York City and Washington, DC-based museum websites inclusive of hands-on student K-12 activities, academic research, interactive investigations, and the museum offered online professional development. The Museums have detailed information on their collections, providing a springboard for individualized classroom learning. This workshop, with its interdisciplinary focus, assists teachers in designing early childhood and elementary/Maker Space and middle school and high school/STEAM projects. The second session will include teacher presentations of their evolving use of museum resources for classroom learning.  

Participants will receive 3 Professional Development Hours.
