Pre-Requisites

The course is designed for all skill levels.  No experience with these software programs is required, however knowledge of video editing software is a plus.

Course Overview

This is an introductory course in Motion Graphics and 3D Animation.

With After Effects, you can create video titles with transitions and remove an object from a video. Animate a logo or character. After Effects is the industry-standard motion graphics and visual effects software.

Learn the fundamentals of 3D modeling and animation with Blender including rigging, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking. Put it all together in a video composition with timeline sequencing, transition effects and animated titles. Digital Storytelling is a fun and exciting way to express your creative power.

Skill builder - Students will be able to:

• Animate an object along a path
• Create dynamic movement between keyframes with the Graph Editor
• Remove unwanted elements with Content-Aware Fill
• Draw complex shapes in shape layers
• Create transparency with Luma Matte
• Apply polygon modeling and rendering
• Export broadcast-quality video projects

Our Instructor:

Frank Asciutto is an Instructional Designer, Digital Technology Instructor and Educational Technologist specializing in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. He has 12 years of classroom teaching experience supplemented with online course development and delivery using Blackboard. Before joining William Paterson University, Frank was an accomplished corporate IT systems manager with over 20 years of experience designing and implementing a variety of financial applications. Frank earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology in 2012 from Boise State Universitynand is a Certified Microsoft Office Master.
