(Middle School A.M.) Understanding Your Strengths and Challenges: Summer Transition Camp 8/3-8/7/20

This program provides middle school students with IEPs and 504 plans a structured educational experience that will allow them to understand their strengths and challenges in their educational journey.  Students will explore the ingredients of academic success, including perseverance, organization skills, self-advocacy, time management, confidence, positive self-talk, motivation, and relaxation. Students will each develop a success plan to help them start thinking about high school and their future.  The Survival Guide for Kids in Special Education by Wendy L. Moss, Ph.D., and Denise M. Campbell, MS., will be used as a reference by the instructor.

This week-long program is for 10 hours of instruction, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Target Population:

Middle school students (entering grades 6 or 7, as well as recent 8th grade graduates) with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or 504 plans. This program is open enrollment based on fit and availability.
