(High School A.M.) Media, Entertainment, and Culture Analysis 7/13-7/17/20
Shape spoken and written interpretations of media and connect to the impact on human consciousness in contemporary society, building strength of analysis and communication. Cultivate your own cultural literacy and work to make connections between assorted media from past and present culture in order to consider why human expression (in a variety of forms) is so significant. Bolster analytical and critical thinking skills by exploring how literary, rhetorical, and artistic strategies convey messages of artists and thinkers. Engage more critically with the content around you! Shaping these skills will serve you no matter what career you pursue!
- How much do you understand about the culture around you?
- Can you observe, interpret, and communicate about what you read, hear, and see?
- Are you interested in exploring a variety of media in order to examine the cultural significance and influence in order to cultivate insight and sophistication as a reader, writer, and thinker?
- Do you seek the critical thinking skills to investigate such media as drama, fiction, poetry, non-fiction, visual art, television, and film (i.e. American, British, and World literature; assorted essays and contemporary articles; documentary and dramatic film; dramatic, news, and satirical television programming; works of photography and painting)?
- Film and television material may include some PG-13 and/or TV-MA content.
