Chromatic Art Craze 7/13-7/17/20

Students will focus on color theory, creating works of art using color theory to drive each piece. Every student will learn how to use the primary colors to create the color wheel. Then each will paint 2 landscapes - one in warm colors, the other in cool colors - to compare the contrasting feelings created by color choices. Students will create a monochromatic self portrait using tints and shades of one color. Students will also have the opportunity to use complementary colors to create optical illusions. At the end of each project students will reflect and critique the work as a group.
