Identifying Different Types of Eating Disorders 4/17/19

Eating Disorders are serious medical conditions related to eating patterns and self-image, that negatively impact health, emotions and ability to function in important areas of one’s life.  This presentation will provide information on identifying different types of eating disorders, signs and symptoms in affected persons, causative factors, health risks and levels of treatment and management . 

Presenter Information:

Dr Bindu Khanna is a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist, in practice for over 20 years. She trained at SUNY Brooklyn for her psychiatric residency followed by child fellowship training at UMDNJ Newark. Dr Khanna works as chief of outpatient services at St Joseph’s outpatient behavioral health services, Cornerstone Day school  and has her own private practice. She also regularly volunteers for NAMI- National Alliance of Mental Illness and does mental health education seminars especially for the general public and parents. Knowledge is power and education is important to destigmatize mental illness.
