Life Skills 101 7/30-8/3/18
Negotiating & Conflict Resolution 7/30-8/3/18
A practical, highly interactive program designed for high school students to teach them essential communication and negotiation skills to effectively compete and succeed in and out of the classroom. Students will learn communication techniques, negotiation tactics, and mediation tools that will help them build confidence, persuade and influence others, handle difficult people and situations, and foster their leadership potential. Through real-life simulations, students will engage in negotiations, mediations and creative problem-solving, developing an invaluable skill set that they can use and apply throughout their lives.

The Esteem Works Project™ Self-Empowerment through Action/Purpose for HS Students 7/30-8/3/18
The Esteem Works Project™ is an enrichment program geared towards empowering youth and young adults through the use of self-esteem building, critical thinking, and life mapping tools. The overall objective of the program is to encourage purposeful habits, positive thinking, as well as more effective ways of communicating while the young people discover their true passions, and pursue their educational and occupational goals.
The Esteem Works Project™ specifically designed for William Paterson University’s Summer Youth Program, is a self-esteem building enrichment program, that consists of a (1) week semester. The youth program participants will meet 5 times a week for 3 hour sessions Monday – Friday. Students will also engage in lectures and group discussions, in addition to completing a series of assignments, activities, and exercises aimed at helping them to discover more about themselves, developing social and living skills, exploring their creative talents, as well as educational and occupational goals.
In addition, students will have the opportunity to be inspired by a series of professional guest speakers who will share their personal and professional stories of life challenges and success. Students will complete an activity workbook and a certificate of completion will be awarded to each student at the end the program.
