Morning Program: Designing Apps for the Future 

This course will take students through the entire process (except coding) of designing an Application for IOS (Iphone) and Android devices. The intention of this course is to show students how to design a useful App that can revolutionize the way people live their lives. Students will be given hands on training with a real "Think-Tank" as well as avenues to see their idea move from conception to availability on the App store.

Afternoon Program: Examine That Text Closely

Examine that Text Closely is designed for students who would like to sharpen their ‘detective reading skills.’ Close reading is an instructional routine in which students critically examine a text, especially through repeated readings. Throughout this course, students will receive the necessary tools to examine any text. At the end of this one week intensive course, students will have the opportunity to design their very own bookmark and brochure, which will highlight and explain the steps to become an active close reader. 

Residential Description: William Paterson University lays down the foundation to prepare student for success, with an option to stay on campus to experience college life.  While the focus is on academics and learning, the social experience that results from bringing students together is an integral part of our summer program. Students discover the joy of living, studying, and relaxing on a beautiful suburban university campus with state-of-the-art facilities, design, and technology. Students will participate in structured and supervised evening activities, dine in our cafeteria, students will be assigned a roommate and two suitemates to meet new friends. College and graduate students are hired to mentor, supervise and reside with the resident students. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
