WP Physics for Middle School (Grades 5 to 8) and Saving Planet Earth 8/1-8/5/16

Morning Program: WP Physics for Middle School

Learn concepts of physics such as: Newton's Laws of Motion, types of forces and energy, velocity and acceleration all while transforming ordinary plastic bottles into sky-soaring rockets! You will be collaborating with fellow classmates and apply your learnings in order to design different types of rockets based on the different challenges assigned. You will then test your rockets by launching them outside to see which group comes up with the design that yields the highest-flying rocket!

Afternoon Program: Saving Planet Earth: Sustainable Science

Think globally and learn locally!  Students will learn about the factors affecting our world today through hands-on science experiences in a university laboratory and in the field.  See how people change their world for the better and the worse, and how we all can make better decisions in the future. Topics will include studies in climate change, biodiversity, renewable energy, geology, water pollution and conservation, and more.
