A Day in St. Joseph's Pediatric Emergency Department

More than 40,000 children and adolescents are treated annually in the St. Joseph’s pediatric emergency department, one of the busiest in New Jersey. Dr. Feingold and his colleagues will present four cases of boys and girls who were recently treated in the ED.  They will describe the child’s history and admitting diagnosis, outline the evaluation and treatment and summarize outcome. They will also discuss the actions and interventions of school staff and EMTs prior to admission and the potential impact on youngsters’ treatment plan and prognosis.
