TV Production and Astronomy Combo 8/3-8/7/15

TV Production 9am-12pm

Whether you’d rather be behind the camera or the on-air talent, there is a spot for you!  Learn about all the components needed for a successful TV show.  Are you into sports? Then you’ll be the sports anchor.  Want to create a heart-wrenching story about animals?  Then you’ll be the field reporter.  During this week-long course, students will learn to develop a story, edit film, identify & use components that make TV viewing interesting and captivate the audience.  No experience needed! Just you and your creativity!

Astronomy (Grades 5 to 8) 1-4pm

Students will explore and expand their knowledge of the mystery of our planet and the universe. This activity will consist of hands-on experiments, discussion sessions, and demonstrations. We will use a special computer simulation to understand phenomena such as: how the Earth rotates around the sun, the four seasons, the Lunar phases, and the scale of our universe in relation to Galaxies and the Milky Way. We even try to travel to Mars! Also, we will have a chance to use Galileo's telescope to search for distant objects. This offers a unique educational experience to challenge student's abilities and their love of learning.
