Children’s Story Book Author

You too can be an author! Learn the components of what makes a children’s story good. Discover the world of visual story-telling. Design an authentic storyboard, breaking down your story as real authors do. Students will develop their story, discussing the components of a story, the use of humor & mystery and morals of the story. Students’ books will be assembled and bound by week’s end.  Students will take away a story that they will remember forever and will be shared with anyone who enjoys reading!

Illustrating Children's Books 7/13-7/17/15

Using several well-known classics of children's literature, students in this workshop will create their own unique responses to these texts.  This class will include art making, light reading, conversations and critiques.  Creativity, originality and enjoyment will be emphasized; no prior experience in illustration is needed!  Professor Triada Samaras

Professor Samaras is a practicing artist and an Adjunct Professor at WPU who co-teaches "Creative Arts and Children's Literature in Early Childhood" in the WPU Education Department with Dr. Janis Strasser
