Process Writing in Preparation for PARCC 8/4 and 8/5/2015

For grades 4-8 and low achieving HS writers (6 hours)

Teachers unfamiliar with, or in need of a refresher in, process writing will be introduced to the five steps of the writing process and the multi-paragraph essay format. This workshop would be especially helpful for beginning teachers of grades 5-9 writing, or for those teaching older students in need of basic writing strategies. Mnemonic devices to help students with this step-by-step writing technique will be provided. Introduction, body, and conclusion paragraph formats and strategies will be presented, modeled, and practiced by attendees.
