Social Justice in Popular Culture 7/13-7/17/15

This course analyzes multiple forms of social oppression and inequality based on race, gender and sexual orientation, social status in the United States through POP CULTURE.  What is happening around us and globally?  Music, art, film, television, the media are reflecting the times and emotions of people.  The Civil Rights, LGBT, Immigration, Human Rights, Feminism have been reflected in popular culture for decades to make us peacefully more aware.  Students will create a video to join the leagues of artists and pop culture. 

Who are the leaders of tomorrow?  This workshop empowers students to be positive role models and to strive to realize their potential without minimizing the assists of others. Learn more about yourself, others, and the world around you through fun and interactive activities. Build techniques to develop trust and collaboration with others.  In this 24/7 connected world this program will help students understand different types of conflicts and their origins. Students will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the program.
