Signs and Symptoms of Anxiety and Depression in Children 5/16/19

Mental Health Disorders refer to a wide range of health conditions that affect your mood, thinking and behavior, and impact functioning in various important areas of life based on severity.  The purpose of this presentation is to discuss signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression in children of different age groups, causative factors, differential diagnosis and management. 

Presenter Information:

Dr Bindu Khanna is a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist, in practice for over 20 years. She trained at SUNY Brooklyn for her psychiatric residency followed by child fellowship training at UMDNJ Newark. Dr Khanna works as chief of outpatient services at St Joseph’s outpatient behavioral health services, Cornerstone Day school  and has her own private practice. She also regularly volunteers for NAMI- National Alliance of Mental Illness and does mental health education seminars especially for the general public and parents. Knowledge is power and education is important to destigmatize mental illness.
