School Refusal in Children

According to the National Association of School Psychologists, school refusal occurs in an estimated five percent of school-age children. Dr. Khanna will describe the characteristics of youngsters who refuse to attend school on a regular basis or who have problems staying in school. She will outline the warning signs and symptoms of school refusal. She will describe the variety of treatment options, including collaboration with parents and school staff, behavioral interventions and support therapy.
