Let’s Talk! Strategies for Language Stimulation in the Classroom

Target Audience: PreK- 2^nd grade Description: Many young children do not communicate well in a classroom environment. Students may have

identified or unidentified special needs or diagnoses, may be minimally verbal, new English language learners, or

simply have speech sound disorders that make them difficult to understand. I, an associate professor and SLP

specializing in child language development and disorders, along with the WPU Speech and Hearing Clinic Director,

will provide teachers with tools to recognize the differences between these various profiles, and strategies to

support and promote receptive and expressive language skills in early childhood classrooms.
