High School PARCC Boot Camp Preparing Students for Part 1 Performance Tasks: Algebra II 2/21/15

Algebra II (accelerated 9^th, 10^th and 11^th graders)

Date: February 21, 2015 (1:00 – 4:00pm)

Students enrolling in this class should be 9^th, 10^th or 11^th grade students taking the March 2015 Algebra II PARCC test. Must have completed Algebra and Geometry.

Students will analyze and respond to Type I tasks that include a balance of conceptual understanding, fluency and application, Type II tasks that call for written arguments/justifications, critique of reasoning, or precision in mathematical standards and Type III tasks that call for modeling/application in a real/world context or scenario and can also involve other mathematical practice standards.

Major topics practiced will include functions, systems and inequalities, solving and graphing quadratics, exponential and logarithmic functions, and operations of polynomials.   Based on need, students may also work on short answer and multiple-multiple choice questions. Course materials and description subject to change when/if PARCC releases information/practice material.
