Cross Country Camp and Voice Your Opinion Combo - August 3 - August 7

Cross Country is a fall sport.  For that reason it is imperative to build a solid foundation during the summer. Most cross country athletes are told by their coaches to make sure that they do some summer running. But what does that really mean?
There are two types of running; aerobic and anaerobic. Aerobic running focuses on a relaxed breathing technique and encourages athletes to work on form. Anaerobic running falls under the category of restricted air, which pertains to hard workouts such as interval training. The key to being a successful cross country athlete relies on the ability of being able to properly balance these two types of running methods. 
 
Program Objectives:
Our one week intensive training regimen will expose our campers to:
• Long aerobic runs
• Fartlek sessions
• Threshold training
• Repetition training (Hill Running)
• Strides at goal pace
• Interval Training
• Competition (Last Day of Camp)
 
Voice Your Opinion

A dynamic social community where students can “voice your opinion” on today’s hottest issues. Through this course, students will have the opportunity to discuss topics that will interest them.  Topics include:  issues in the media, literature, movies, sports, and a variety of personal interests will be discussed.  Students will participate in a variety of educational activities focusing on the development of their Language Art skills.   Bring your opinions and voices as this workshop allows you and your peers to communicate all of your great ideas!
