Childhood Diabetes: What Every Caregiver Should Know 3/27/18

Children diagnosed with diabetes face many challenges at home and in school. These challenges can have a great impact on the child, their parents and other caregivers. In “Childhood Diabetes: What Every Caregiver Should Know,” Ms. Magnani and Ms. Cordero will discuss these challenges and provide solutions for common problems. They will provide a basic overview of diabetes and review the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. Additionally, both presenters will discuss common social/psychological issues seen in children with diabetes and offer tips on how families and schools can help. Family services and other support resources will also be highlighted.
