The Certified HIPAA Security Professional (CHSP) program provides comprehensive training in HIPAA for medical staff managers, security and privacy officers, and business associates. Detailed lessons describe every aspect of HIPAA compliance, including the Privacy and Security rules, regulatory changes brought by the HITECH Act and Omnibus Final Rule of 2013, requirements for business associates, and more. The program is presented through entirely online, through self-paced text lessons, multimedia reviews, and assessments. The certification is included in the price of the course and is earned through an online, timed final exam.

Outcome

Upon successful completion, a student will:

• Have all of the training required to serve as a HIPAA Security Compliance Officer.
• Be able to demonstrate their own training compliance.
• Be able to guide their organization through meeting HIPAA requirements.

Assessment

Students must pass a series of assessment quizzes. The quizzes are presented online culminating in an online, timed final exam. The quizzes can be taken an unlimited number of times. The final exam can be taken up to 2 times and a final grade of 80% is necessary for successful completion.
