Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorder

According to the Centers For Disease Control, 6.4 million or 11 percent of children nation-wide were diagnosed with ADHD in 2011.  One of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood, approximately 13.2 percent of boys and 5.6% of girls have been diagnosed with ADHD.   Dr. Holahan will outline the possible causes and risk factors for ADHD, describe symptoms and discuss the evaluation process. He will summarize treatment options, including the range of treatments available, risks and benefits and stress the importance of communication and collaboration with both the youngster and parents.
