Acting for TV, Theater and Modeling (Resident) 7/9-7/14/17

Do you enjoy acting or simply wondered what acting is like? Do you ever wonder what it's like to do a TV commercial, theater or even model for a crowd? In this one week workshop, students will learn all that and more, from the basics of shooting a TV commercial to acting and modeling. Students will discover their unique talents, develop self-confidence and good communication skills to enter the entertainment business (world) or any future career. At the conclusion of the week, students will create a live mini-performance to showcase their talent and skills learned! The program will end at noon on Friday.

Instructor Bio: Susan Rybin is an Award winning actress. Her most recent credit was the portrayal of Frida Kahlo in a one-woman play at Gramercy Arts Theater a/k/a Repertorio Español which she received the HOLA Best Actress Solo Performance Award 2016. She has performed in “Labors of Love” at the Lambs Theatre and in “Fireflies” at Thalia Spanish Theater, which she received the H.O.L.A Outstanding Achievement Award .Her performance in “Three Calla Lillies” at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre earned her the Premio ACE, for Best Actress in a dramatic role.   Susan also proudly received a Special Premio ACE in 2011, for her 30 years as a performer and Latino Youth educator through her accredited Rybin Studio of Drama.  And, her co-starring performance in “No Problemo Amigo” at Thalia Spanish Theater also got her an ACE nomination. She later toured Colombia with “No Problemo Amigo” for the International Theatre Festival in Manizales, Medellin, and Bogota.  Susan has been honored byEl Diario la Prensa as one of the most Distinguished Women of the Year 2000 and received La Tribuna’s Newspaper Distinguished Women Award in 2005.   She also received recognition by the Art-Sciences-Lettres of France receiving the Silver Medal for her outstanding career as an actress.
